So, who is David? Some Random Thoughts
-
- Second City Toronto improv trained – cannot recommend improv enough – fantastic for anyone, really!
- spent decades in the corporate world so I get what you deal with
- single father of two young adult children – widowed in 2007 – not fun! Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone
- inspired by human creativity
- has the body of a middle-aged man – the mind of an adolescent boy – think Peter Pan but without the flexibility, the costume, any ability to fly, and closer to Robin Williams than Cathy Rigby
- youthful, creative, intellectual, goofy, inciteful, inquisitive, keen eye for detail, enjoys looking at the big picture / 30,000-foot view, sees the world through a unique lens
- cat person – grew up with an amazing Siamese cat, currently have a belligerent male cat named Marty
- definitely not a dog person – had a traumatic incident with a couple of German Shepherds when I was a kid
- Curious George was my hero (ok, well not quite “hero” but a fictional character I related to quite well – curious, getting into trouble, etc.)
- says “yes” too easily, doesn’t say no enough
- enjoys movies, and series on streaming platforms, eating, cooking (because of eating), travelling (because of eating)
- not a fitness nut (no, not because of eating), but do what I can to stay active
- undiagnosed ADHD – wish I had been diagnosed as a kid though
- rambunctious child who was bullied for most of his school years – again, not fun, wouldn’t recommend being bullied
- fascinated by marketing – loves listening to Under the Influence by Terry O’Reilly (and his books This I Know and My Best Mistake)
- just like the Transformers, I’m more than meets the eye
- believes in honesty, integrity, the golden rule, common decency, respect,
- business mindset from 24 years in the corporate world – small companies to multinational enterprises
- had to dramatically pull back on my social media usage recently as it was becoming far too time-consuming – and not a great thing for one’s mental health
- supportive of left-leaning policies and looking forward to a Harris/Walz presidency
