Why did I create VOFeedback.com?
If that question leaves you thinking…
“OK, Dave, What exactly IS VOFeedback.com?”
…then I’ll tell yah! VOFeedback.com is the first and only platform dedicated to helping voice actors with one of the biggest gaps they face in a self-tape world: performance feedback.
Yes, there are a handful of great services for Talent to get feedback right now, from Liz Atherton’s VOAC to Tim and Jay’s VOWW and even Kelly at The VoiceCaster’s weekly Virtual VOWG, but they all lack some key elements:
- The ability to use your own script/audio/demo/etc.
- The ability to select from over 40 vetted professionals, and
- The ability to request feedback outside the specific time window of these programs
In late 2025, I began ruminating on how I would like to see this kernel of an idea blossom into something tangible. I got working with Claude to build what I thought was an extensive platform with all kinds of automations, dashboards for both Talent and Reviewers, plus all kinds of possible future features that are still in my V2.0 roadmap.
Once I had this gorgeous (I may say) visual mock-up of the site, I showed it to my “go-to” web guy, Joe Davis from Voice Actor Websites, and while he was quite impressed with the concept, he did bring me back down to earth with a ballpark estimate to bring my vision to life – around $15k!! Ouch!
But he did give me a bit of hope in that he suggested, since I already use WordPress to build this site, that I should build a functioning “proof of concept” version (the version that is live today) with the basic functionality on the front end and a manual process on the back end. This way, I can see if voice actors actually “want” this service or not.
So, beginning in 2026, I spent several months building the site from scratch, drawing from the expertise of several people and companies to pull it together, and then, with the help of Libby Clearfield, to help me fine-tune the messaging, I was off to the races!
As a professional voiceover talent who started in this crazy business in 2016, I firmly believe that closing the loop in the endless cycle of auditioning (whether from Agents, Casting Directors, Producers, P2P sites or others) without having some kind of regular feedback, can leave you asking the question “what that bookable?”
One of the side benefits to this platform is the ability to guarantee an Agent, Casting Director or Producer WILL hear your audio, so it’s an amazing way to let any of the 40+ Reviewers know that you exist in the sea of voice actors and hear your performance abilities.
And if you’re seeing this in August of 2026, you can have the chance to win a $300 credit for any combination of reviews by entering the contest below.
